Built in 1750 and extended in 1870, the Château de Bambecq was once said to be the most beautiful small Château in Northern France. Set in fifteen acres of park and woodland with a small lake and lovely old farm buildings, the Château is something of a regional anomaly, being built more in the style of the Anjou region.
The Château can be rented for private parties of up to 16. A private rental can be partly or fully catered to suit your requirements (and budget) under the UK owner’s exclusive hire agreement for private groups. Tastefully and comfortably decorated in traditional style, the bedrooms all enjoy uninterrupted views over the gardens and grounds. We have several rooms in which one or more children can be accommodated by the addition of single beds. For even greater people capacity it is possible to add the Farmhouse, located some 50 yards from the main house.
Chambre d’Hôte at the Château is offered for most of the year, and Table d’Hôte is available by arrangement for both Château and Farmhouse guests.
Special events are hosted at the Château (listed elsewhere on this site), which is also available for group functions, and photographic and film work.
The Farmhouse sleeps 6 and is available for exclusive hire on a self-catering basis.
The Location - so easy to get to! The Château de Bambecq is conveniently situated on the outskirts of the village of Racquinghem in the Pas-de-Calais region. From Dover there is a great choice of sailings and we are only 45 minutes South East of Calais, 55 minutes East of Boulogne and 50 minutes South of Dunkirk - actually closer to London than to Paris by some way! The medieval town of St. Omer is about 10 kilometres away and the popular seaside town of Le Touquet is just over an hour by car.
